Devin Haney’s parents, Bill Haney and April Clay have had a significant impact on his boxing career. They have both been with him and supported him despite not being together. Devine has three siblings, his older brother Bill Jr. and two younger ones Sean and Arabella.
In 1992, Devin’s father Bill was involved in drug trafficking while he was studying in Kentucky. For that, he was sentenced to 60 months at Lompoc Penitentiary but he was released after 40 months on good behaviour.

Bill Haney
Bill is not just Devin’s father but also his trainer and manager. Apparently, Bill had a troubled childhood. While growing up, he was allegedly sent to a catholic private school in other to save himself from peer pressure on the streets. However, he later ended up in Oakland as a juvenile hall.
Later on, he got involved in drugs in Kentucky. According to reports, he started selling marijuana and cocaine as a teenager in Oakland, California.
Reports have it that he delved into drug trafficking at the time his father was struggling with terminal cancer. He was later sentenced to 60 months at Lompoc Penitentiary but he ended up spending only 40 months as he was released early due to good behaviour.
While he was still at Lompoc Penitentiary, Devin’s brother, who was only two years at that time came to visit him. He also met a friend in prison who helped him break into the music industry in Oakland.
Bill Haney was on the journey of becoming a better person and parent when his son Devin was born. With the hope of saving his boys from the ills of the streets, Bill had established a hip-hop record label and worked with Aaliyah and DMX left his wife and two sons and moved to Las Vegas.
There are sources that claim it was after Devin was born that Bill and his wife separated. Moreso, it was around the same time, he taught his son how to defend himself in other to keep him away from the streets, he took his youngest son to a local boxing gym where Derrick Harmon started training him at the age of 7.
To nurture his son’s fighting skills, Bill Haney went ahead to open a boxing gym with a recording studio. By the time Devin was 12, Bill sold a California-based property he had inherited, his cars, and even wristwatches to buy a Sprinter van and concentrate on homeschooling his young lad.
Going forward, the father of four continued to train his son till he turned pro in 2018 although his past would have compromised his son’s boxing career but he took responsibility for his actions and issued an official apology. He also decided to start a drug treatment program.
Bill Haney has since become an advocate for drug addiction treatment. Despite that, he almost lost a travel visa to Australia for Devin’s fight with Kambosos. Luckily, he later received the green light to travel.
Bill is now married to his second wife, whose identity is still under wraps. He shares two children: Sean and Arabella with his wife.

April Clay
April and Bill married very young but separated shortly after the birth of their second son, Devin. However, there are sources that claim April is Devin’s stepmother and his real mother is a woman named ReneHaney. To contradict this, there’s a YouTube video in which Devin’s mother revealed her name was April Clay and she is his real mother.
In addition to the confusion surrounding the identity of Bill’s wife, the said woman, Rene is actually his mother and Devin’s grandmother.
She also added that she is not available on social media.
He Has Three Siblings
Bill Jr. Haney
Bill Jr. is Devin’s only biological sibling. The other two are his half-siblings from his father’s side.
Bill Jr.’s Instagram bio states that he is an entrepreneur and most of his posts suggest his a father of one.
Sean Haney
Devin Haney‘s brother is also an athlete. He chose to focus on tennis instead of boxing. Sean has shared a couple of photos of him training on Instagram. Bill Haney has equally shown massive support to him.
Sean has also established himself as an online entrepreneur at a very young age.
Arabella Haney
Arabella is the youngest in the family and also the one that is less known. She is often seen hanging with her family but there is not much information about her.
