Jan Blachowicz may have had a lot of wins in his MMA career which started in 2007 but he cannot deny that Dorota Jurkowska is his greatest win ever. Not only does she hold down the home front while he is away on professional duties, but she also manages him as an MMA fighter.
The relationship between these 2 is as old as Jan’s career, but for Dorota, the Polish professional light heavyweight boxer would have been out of a job in 2017. She took up the responsibility of saving his career and she helped him birth a new fighter.
In a similar vein, Jan Blanchowicz’s wife bore a son for him in 2020 and the boy seems to be enjoying his father’s career.

Dorota Jurkowska was born on October 6, 1987, in Warsaw, Poland just like her husband, Jan. She is 1 of 4 children born to Zbigniew Jurkowski and Jola Jurkowska. Her siblings are named Sebastian Jurkowski, Paulina Jurkowska, and Lukaz Juras Jurkowski.
Lucas also known as Jurassic is also an MMA competitor like his in-law. While he is fluent in ITF taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu fighting style, Jan is fluent in Muay Thai fighting style.
38-year-old Dorota’s brother also works as a Polish commentator and Sports journalist. He also competes in taekwondo competitions and won the first Martial Arts Confrontation tournament.
Dorota is also a part of her brother’s team and she shows up for him as often as she could.
She Saved Her Husband, Jan Blachowicz’s Career back in 2017
Back in 2017, MMA fighter, Jan Maciej Blachowicz was in a really bad place. Career-wise, he wasn’t doing as expected and this almost cost him his stint with the UFC.
However, Dorota, his then-girlfriend and manager rose to the occasion and saved the day.
She was in a back-and-forth situation with then UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard through emails. Jurkowska did everything within her power to ensure that her client was given an extra chance to prove himself.
She managed to convince Mick to leverage Jan’s popularity in Poland to keep him at the UFC.
Eventually, the Polish fighter wasn’t fired and to date, he constantly narrates how his wife saved him and his career. Asides from meditating on his behalf, Dorota also availed herself emotionally to help her then-boyfriend through the challenges he was facing.
Dorota and Jan Welcomed Their First Child Together in 2020 After Many Years of Dating
On December 17, 2017, Dorota celebrated 10 years anniversary with her husband. This means that the couple has been together for 18 years now.
This is about the same duration Jan’s career as a fighter has lasted. In all these, the constants in their lives have been their love for each other, their careers, and their growth.
Despite being together for so long, Dorota has mostly only been referred to as ‘fiancé’. Seeing how far they have come together, it is no news that she would one day become the UFC fighter’s wife.
However, Dorota and Jan did not have any kids together until 2020. They welcomed their son named Johnitka Jan Jr. Balchowicz on December 15, 2020. He is currently 5 years old.
The boy has been introduced to his father’s career and he seems to be a supporter of Janek’s MMA career. Well, his mother is also hand so it’ll be almost impossible for JJ to not be introduced to the world as well.
Additionally, Johnitka started receiving fitness training from his father as soon as he could walk. There just might be another MMA fighter in the making, here.
She is a Fitness Enthusiast
From her Instagram pictures, it is obvious that Dorota Jurkowska is also big on fitness. She shares images and videos of her working out every now and again.
Even while pregnant, the manager of Jan Balchowicz was steadily taking her workouts seriously.
She spends ample time in the gym and sometimes with her husband on walks and other exercises.
