Ellie Carpenter is an Australian professional soccer player who currently plays for the Women’s National Team of Australia and Olympique Lyonnais after she moved from Portland Thorns. She made history in 2016 as the youngest female Footballer to feature in an Olympic competition and also the youngest Australian to feature in an Olympic tournament.

The Australian soccer player was born Ellie Madison Carpenter on the 28th day of April 2000 in Australia’s New South Wales town of Cowra to her parents who were reported to be teachers in physical education. As a child, she was brought up on a farm Cowra which is about 400km West of Sydney.
Ellie was so much in love with football that she always traveled long distances to play the sport in Young, Canberra, and Sydney. Sources revealed that when she was 12, her family relocated to Sydney to enable her to start high school at Westfield Sports High School. It is clear now that her family has been supportive to see her accomplish her dreams and reach her goals.
Ellie has an older brother, Jeremy Carpenter who is two years older. He also played just like his sister. His career as a soccer player would see him to places like Japan and Portugal. In 2017, she moved to another new club- Canberra United, where she featured in 21 games and netted 5 times for the club.

Ellie Carpenter’s international football career kicked off in 2015 when she was invited to join the Australian under-17 team for the 2015 AFC Under-16 Women’s Championship qualification in September 2014, making her first appearance in national colors in a qualifying match against Vietnam which Australia won, playing every second and minute of the game.
Her national team coaches and top management discovered that she is really good, so they called her to join the Senior women’s national team the “Matildas.” She got her first cap for the team in a 2015/16 AFC Women’s Olympic qualifying tournament in March 2016.
