Veronika Kudermetova is a 28 -year-old Russian professional tennis player. She started her career at a young age and is yet to win a grand slam. Aside from this, Kudermetova is married to the former tennis player, Sergei Demekhine who also doubles as her coach.

1. Her Early Life and Age

As you would easily find, Veronika Kudermetova was born on April 24 1997 in Kazan, Russia. Her father, Eduard Kkudermetov was an ice hockey player while her mother’s identity is not known.

Considering her year of birth, she is 28 years old. Also, Kudermetova is not the only child born to her parents. Veronika has a younger sister, Polina Kurdemetova, a tennis player.

2. She Started Playing Tennis at the Age of 8

From a young age, Veronika became passionate about tennis. According to her father, their neighbor, Rinat Kasused Toyanov’s daughter was the first person that invited his 8-year-old daughter, Veronika to play tennis. Soon after, she developed an interest in the game and never turned away from it.

Regarding her educational pursuit, she was enrolled at a school in Magnitogorsk, an industrial city in Chelyabinsk Oblast. Her parents chose that school so she can continue going to tennis practice at an amateur tennis facility. However, she later moved to CSKA, a sports school located in Moscow after her father moved to the hockey team, Mettallurg.

3. Veronica Kudermetova Launched her Professional Career at the Age of 14

Veronika forayed into professional tennis playing in 2011. Notably, she won the ITF singles competition in her debut match at the Porsche tennis grand Prix. This match introduced her to the tennis world and attracted a lot of attention to herself.

In the same year, she and her partner, Evgeniya Rodina won the doubles at the Kremlin Cup. Having set this pace, she did not look back. Since then she has broadened her career by participating in different tennis tournaments including the Grand Slams.

Veronika is married to the former tennis player Sergei Demekhine since 2017. Before their marriage, Demekhine had played tennis professionally as well as modeled for big brands.

Moving forward, she first met him as a teen when he started coaching her. At the time, their relationship was professional and they waited till she turned 18 before they started dating

The tennis player revealed that she felt ashamed of dating a far older man who also happened to be her coach. Moreso, her mother took a while before accepting their relationship while her father was calm about it. As it is, Veronika and the former tennis player now turned coach are still together and always sharing loved-up pictures on social media.

5. Is Veronika Kudermetova a Mother?

According to our findings, Kudermetova is not yet a mother nor are there any indications of having children now. Her online activities revolve around her tennis career and moments with her husband and friends. Considering how childbirth is such a personal decision, especially for rising athletes, she may be taking her time.

6. The Kazan Native Has Not Won a Grand Slam 

Since she launched her career, the tennis player has played at different tennis tournaments yet, she has not snatched a grand slam title. The closest she came to winning was in 2021 when she reached the finals at the Wimbledon Championships. Like other times, she and her doubles partner, Elen Vesnina were ousted by Hsieh Su-Wei and Elise Mertens.

Despite this setback, The Russian star played singles at both the French Open and Australian Open without coming close to the prize.

7. Her Father  Started Coaching his Daughters after he Retired

According to Veronika’s father, he started paying attention to his daughters’ careers while they were still young. Howbeit, he was not interested in tennis at first, but he soon joined her training team when his hockey career ended in 2008.

Starting from his oldest daughter, Eduardo was at the forefront of trying to secure sponsorships for her as well as pushing her to hone her skills. He pushed her so hard that this started rubbing off wrongly on her and other coaching members of her team. In the long run, Eduardo stepped away from coaching her to the specialist so he can be with her younger sister Polina.

Thankfully, this decision paid off big as they are both professional tennis players.

8. She Almost Changed her Citizenship

In the past, she had the offer to change her citizenship to Austrian. However, this did not go through since she has played for the Russian national team. Moreso, Veronika does not have plans to live in another country.

Her father is said to have advised his adult daughters to buy real estate in other countries, yet they have still not shown an interest in following this through. A look through her social media updates shows she enjoys spending time in her native country with her husband. This does not rule out the fact that she may one day choose to relocate to another country. Besides Veronika is a fluent English speaker.

9. How Tall is the Russian Tennis Player

Per WTA, Veronika stands at a height of 5ft 8 inches(1.95m). This impressive height is one of her outstanding attributes. Add this to her right-handed (two-handed backhand)  and it becomes obvious that she is a formidable player on the court.

In tennis, the height of a player is important as it determines the speed and angle of the serve. Tall players have the advantage of fast serves while shorter players have the advantage of quick movement on the court. In her case, Veronika’s height of 5ft 8 inches falls within the average for a tennis player. As an averagely tall player, she is at an advantage that allows her to serve and move fast.

10. Veronika Kudermetova’s Net Worth

She has an estimated net worth of over $2 million which she made from her career of over a decade. As of this writing, she has prize money of $ 5,106,696 and this gives credence to her impressive net worth.

Also, the Russian superstar is estimated to earn thousands of dollars through brand endorsements she does for Armani since 2020. Prior, she was endorsed by Nike when she played as a junior.
