The 46 year-old began playing club football at West Ham United, his father’s former club. He joined the team’s youth ranks in 1994 before signing a professional contract in 1995. Two years later, he became a first team-team regular and renewed his contract in 1999 to keep him at the club until 2005, but he joined Chelsea in June 2001.

It was at Chelsea that Lampard reached the peak of his football career, winning three EPL titles, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, four FA Cups, and two League cups. However, Manchester City announced in August 2015 that the midfielder would join City on a six-month deal which would end in  January 2015. Later on, it was discovered that he had signed a short-term contract with the Etihad outfit as a free agent.
