Before Tyra, Gary had another child, Trinity with Charlie. The pair got into a relationship that led to the birth of the first of his two daughters. Gary Goodridge or as he is better known, Big Daddy, was born on January 17, 1966, in Saint James, Trinidad. His father was Henry Goodridge while his mother was Barbara Goodridge. Born a twin, he was raised together with four sisters in a family that was extremely poor. He revealed that there were times that he had to go to school without breakfast because of how poor his family was.
2. It was poverty that drove his family to Canada
After years of living in sheer poverty, Henry and Barbara Goodridge decided they wanted a better life for their kids and that became their motivation to emigrate to Canada. However, since the family could not move at the same time because there was no money, Henry moved first and after setting up a living arrangement, his wife and kids soon joined him.
His mother was the first to join him after a year, and then his sisters while he stayed with his grandfather in Barbados. He stayed there a long time, feeling abandoned before he later joined his family.
3. Goodridge took so much beating as a child
The former kickboxer revealed that as a child, his mother was very strict that she wasted no time in beating the hell out of him and his sister whenever they did something wrong or even when they left home. On many occasions, she would chase them down the street while flogging them with a belt. This prepared him for the beating he would later come to get as a professional fighter.
4. He knocked out an opponent in less than 15 seconds
He has one of the fastest knockouts in MMA after he defeated Paul Herrera in a fight that lasted only 13 seconds. That said, his career in the martial arts saw him to a 23 wins and 22 losses while he drew a fight. In Kickboxing, he won 12 fights and lost 24 while he drew 2.
5. Gary Goodridge once thought of suicide
As a result of his career as a fighter, Gary currently suffers from a mental disability. This has affected his life in many ways, causing him to keep forgetting things. This has caused him a depression that almost cost him his life. He revealed that he has always been scared of waking up one day and not being able to remember his daughters or the idea that they had to take care of him one day.
According to him, it is the drugs that he is now taking that are gradually helping him.

6. He once attacked his girlfriend
Although he has not given a name, Gary revealed that before he realized that he had a problem, he once attacked his girlfriend in an outburst. The domestic incident led to his arrest and it was as the cops led him away in handcuffs that he realized he had a problem and needed help.
Since then, he started visiting physicians who discovered that because of the continuous blows he used to take on the head when he was a fighter, he is now suffering from dementia pugilistica, a cognitive impairment that is caused by head trauma.
