He began playing and practicing at the age of 5.
He attended The Ensworth School for his freshman year of high school, where he played in all 30 games of the season, averaging 10.0 ppg., 2.0 bpg. and 6.0 rpg. Wiseman transferred to Memphis East after his second year in order to train with Penny Hardaway, who was an assistant coach at the school, and also the head coach of his AAU Team, Team Penny. He was ruled out from participating in the 2018/19 season because his relationship with Hardaway violated the “prior link” regulation for transfers. A month later, the ban was graciously lifted, and was allowed to partake in the season because the regulation was unclear as to how and when the “prior link” rule should apply. Wiseman went on to help the Memphis East Mustangs win their third consecutive state title with a 7-50 win against Whitehaven High School, amassing 19 points, 3 blocks, and 6 rebounds.
