Born on June 27, 1970, in Fullerton, California, Jim Edmonds whose full birth name is actually James Patrick Edmonds, attended Diamond Bar High School where he played baseball so well that he caught the attention of clubs waiting to snatch him upon his graduation.

He was eventually drafted in the 7th round by the California Angels in the 1988 Major League Baseball Draft. Following the draft, Jim Edmonds went on to play in the minor leagues before making his major league debut for the California Angels in September 1993.

According to him, when he fell sick with symptoms of the virus, he decided to hold off for as long as possible before seeking medical help because he felt he could tough out the sickness. However, this turned out to be a bad idea.

He explained that he found it really hard to breathe when he fell sick with the virus and that doctors battled to save his life before he eventually got better and was discharged. He advised fans to never hold off when they fall sick bit seek medical attention immediately.
