Jim Stoppani is a renowned fitness expert. He has so many feathers on his cap as he is a kinesiologist with a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology. He is a bodybuilder and a health and nutrition expert. Jim is also a writer and author who has to his credit some bestseller books.
Jim Stoppani Biography
Born on the 13th of January 1968, Jim grew up in Torrington, Connecticut. His career as a bodybuilder started quite early as his father knowingly or unknowingly nudged him toward the path. He reveals that they had a fully equipped gym in their home basement and his father always brought home issues of fitness magazines which he devoured. All these made him fall in love with fitness and he decided to make a career out of it.
He won several awards as a teenager and then went to the University of Connecticut to earn a BSC in Athletic Training in 1990. He proceeded to Georgia Southern University for his MSC in Exercise Science in 1993 and then returned to the University of Connecticut for a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology in 2000.
After his Ph.D., he worked as a Post-Doctoral researcher at Yale University School of Medicine in John B. Pierce Laboratory between 2000 – 2002 and his work earned him the “Gatorade Exercise Science Award” for beginning investigator by the American Physiological Society.
Jim wrote articles about fitness during his time in Yale and sent them to Joe Weider who later offered Jim the position of the Senior Science Editor in Weider publications a position he held for eleven years.
From his level of education, it is obvious that Jim is very vast in the science of Exercise. He has since written thousands of articles about exercise, nutrition, and health. He has authored and co-authored several books, among them are ‘Encyclopedia of Muscle & Strength (Human Kinetics 2006, 2nd edition 2014), Stronger Arms & Upper Body, Prayfit: Your Guide to a Healthy Body and a Stronger Faith in 28 Days, and LL Cool J’s Platinum 360 Diet and Lifestyle: A Full-Circle Guide to Developing Your Mind, Body, and Soul.
Jim has also created his line of supplements called JYM Supplement Science which is being sold worldwide.
