Professional Cambridgeshire boxer, Jordan Gill is a Commonwealth featherweight title holder. He is also known as The Thrill and has won a majority of his matches, only losing for the first time in 2019 when he faced Mario Enrique Tinoco on May 10.

1. Jordan Gill’s Father was an Amateur Boxer

Jordan Gill is from Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
He was born on July 1, 1994, to parents named Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gill.
Mr. Paul is a former amateur boxer and coach of a local boxing club. He is dedicated to passing down his knowledge and expertise to the younger generation.
Mr. Paul Gill’s career also had an influence on his son’s decision to become a professional fighter.
2. His First Professional Match in 2012 ended in a Win
Jordan made his professional debut on July 7, 2012, against Kristian Laight. The match which was held at the Sheffield Arena, ended in a win for Jordan.
This win set the precedence for more wins and boosted Gill’s confidence for more wins. He has competed in the featherweight, Super-featherweight, and lightweight boxing categories.
3. Jordan Gill is a Commonwealth Featherweight
The Cambridgeshire boxer competed for the Commonwealth featherweight boxing title in 2018. He challenged the then-champion, Ryan Doyle for the title on October 27, 2018, and defeated him.
The match ended in the seventh round when the referee had to stop the contest following Jordan’s barrage of punches. He was then awarded the title of the new Commonwealth Champion.

Jordan’s father, Paul Gill is all hands on deck in this organization. According to his Instagram bio, he is a young people’s worker for the foundation.
8. The Professional Boxer was Married
This information isn’t one you would readily get when you search for Jordan Gill. However, the 30-year-old boxer was once married.
The details of his marriage, union, and subsequent divorce weren’t as public as Gill’s professional career.
In fact, most people only knew about the athlete’s failed marriage when it became a reason for a decision the boxer made in a depressed state of mind.
9. Jordan Gill Attempted Suicide
Sometime in 2022, the news about Gill’s marriage divorce was brought to light because he was going through a lot.
Upon losing his European Featherweight title and securing his second professional loss in 10 years, Jordan revealed that there was more to his woes.
According to the boxer, he was in a very rough place emotionally. He even attempted to take his life because of what he went through. After his second loss, his marriage came crashing down and so did other things in his life.
His plan of committing suicide was thwarted on June 30, 2022, by someone who saw him on the verge of the act.
Luckily for him, he was able to get help from close friends and family and bounced back mentally and professionally.
10. Gill is Yet to Win a Major World Title
In his over 10 years of professional boxing, Jordan Gill is yet to have a major world title belt. He has competed in featherweight (and won a Commonwealth title for this), Super-featherweight, and lightweight categories but is yet to have any world title.
Maybe sometime soon, the boxer will compete for, and win a WBA, WBO, WBC, or IBF major titles.
