Following the footstep of a legendary parent isn’t an easy feat. Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands on the 5th of May 1999 as the second son to Patrick Kluivert and Angela Van Hulten. Justin grew up alongside his two brothers idolizing his father. The marriage between his parents came to an end in 2004 in a divorce and then in 2008, his father married Rossana Kluivert with whom he has a child Shane Patrick Kluivert.
Justin and his brothers showed an early interest in the game and started training. He officially began his playing at age 8 and has not looked back since then.
Career progression
Justin began his youth career in 2005 with SV Diemen before joining Ajax in 2007. As he grew into his game, he quickly rose through the ranks and joined the senior team making his debut on the 16th of September 2016.
His best performance in his career is considered a home fixture between Ajax and Roda JC where he scored a beautiful hat-trick in a 5-1 win in November 2017.
In 2018, he made a €18.75 million move to a Serie A club Roma.
Justin Kluivert also began to play for the Netherlands national team in 2015.
Justin Kluivert has smashed several records on the pitch confirming that he was born to do this. In 2018, he became the youngest Roma player to score in the UEFA Champions League.

1. Family history in football
It appears that playing football might be in the DNA of most Kluivert with some exceptions though. Justin comes from a long line of exceptional footballers. His grandfather (Kenneth Kluivert) was a left-winger with S.V. Robinhood and Suriname national team. His father (Patrick Kluivert) was a notable striker for AFC Ajax, FC Barcelona, and Netherlands national team.
He is presently the academy director for FC Barcelona. His brothers (Quincy, Ruben, and Shane) are also at various stages of building their careers in sports. About his name, Justin reveals that he finds it an honour to play with the name and he also hopes to expand the name.

While reminiscing about his childhood, Justin fondly remembers learning his basic skills on the street. According to him, there was a playground beside their house where he was always playing football with his brothers and friends.

Even though Justin enjoys a close relationship with his father, he admits that most of the recollections he has of his father as a footballer was through retrospective research on YouTube as he was very young when his father was in the prime of his career.
It’s important to point out that his father was a striker while Justin is a midfielder/winger. He has managed to achieve some incredible feats in his short career.
