In a male-dominated world of boxing, Kandi Wyatt boxes her way to becoming an interesting Canadian fighter with more than an average win. The 34-year-old may not be the greatest so far since Laila Ali already has the title. Yet, she could easily write her name on the sands of time as one who would fight a good fight, knocks out even good fighters, and also gain a unanimous decision win.

Her story in professional boxing started in December 2014 and has since fought the likes of Christina Barry, Maria Guzman, Christina Linardatou, Beatriz Aguilar, and Jessica McCaskill. Interesting right? Sure it is. But there is more about her and only a simple few minutes read will unbox who she is, her career, records, and her love life.

Gymnastics was the First Sport She Started But Boxing Had Her Heart

Born on 26 March 1991, Kandi Renae Wyatt was only a little girl being raised in Saskatchewan – a Canadian province that borders the United States to the south. Then she moved to Rocky Mountain House and her parents enrolled her in a local gymnastics club.

While there, she was drawn to boxing when she noticed kids training at Rocky Titans Boxing Club which was right next to where she trained in gymnastics.

Wyatt who was then 8 years old spoke to her parents and the coach and soon became a member of the boxing club and spent the next 10 years training there.

After spending 10 years in Rocky Mountain House training, Wyatt moved to Edmonton in 2010 at 19 years. There, she continued to root herself in boxing as well as working towards qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Although she didn’t qualify for the Olympics, it didn’t stop her from continuing with her pursuit to become a greater fighter. With this, she remained an amateur until she made a bold step into a professional career in 2014.

Before then, she made several records in the 15 years of her career.

  • 10x Provincial champion
  • 6x National champion
  • 4x Ringside World Tournament champion
  • 2010 National team member
  • 2010 Continental Champion

Kandi Wyatt Recorded 10 Wins in Her Foremost 14 Games

On December 5, 2014, Krush was only 23 years old when she made a professional debut and in the first 14 fights she was involved in, she recorded 10 wins and 4 losses.

Her first professional fight was with Christina Barry and it was held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The fight left Wyatt with a 1-0 record victory.

The next 7 fights Wyatt was involved in ended in her winning in both Knockouts and unanimous decisions.

Her foremost fight outside Canada was unfortunately her first loss. It took place in Athen, Greece against Christiana Linardatou on 24 Mar 2019. This fight was for a vacant WBO female light welterweight title and it left her ranking in the third position of the WBA female 140-pound.

On September 28 2019 and 15 February 2020, the fighter gained better standing with a series of wins against Dayanna González and Beatriz Aguilar. She won both fights in unanimous decisions in the 6th round.

Her 12th, 13th, and 14th fights were all in the United States and she recorded simultaneous losses. The 12th boxing match was against American professional boxer and actress, Kali Reis and it was for the WBA female Welterweight title.

On the other hand, the 13trh fight was against Alma Ibarra while the 14th was for  WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring female welterweight titles and it was against American boxer Jessica McCaskill on December 4, 2021.

In summary, she has been ranked 11th in the WBA 147 lbs and won the WBA Intercontinental welterweight belt.

Let’s Know How Wealthy Wyatt is

Kandi Wyatt’s net worth is estimated at over $1 million. Her primary source of income is her boxing career. While the exact fortune she makes per fight may be sketchy,  it is a known fact that boxers make money by selling tickets.

Moreso, boxers gain from purse money where they gain a certain percentage of the total purse money.

Another way boxers, perhaps including Wyatt can earn is through pay-per-view sales which can run into the millions.

Comparing Wyatt with other boxers, she may not be the richest but one would not deny her thriving as a fighter and that also comes with its income.
