Schmeichel started his club career with a series of loans. Being a legendary goalkeeper’s son helped his career but he had to put more effort to get a club. Kasper Schmeichel joined Manchester City in September 2002.
The contract was a long-term contract and it included schoolboy, scholar, and professional terms. He later joined Darlington on a loan deal in January 2006. He made his professional debut against Peterborough United on 14 January 2006.
