Kayce Smith was born on the 25th of October, 1988 in Texas. She is the first child of her parents and has a younger sister named Ally Eliane Smith; both of them spent their childhood in the state of Texas. The two siblings have a tight relationship and are often seen together.
Smith graduated from Texas A&M University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication.
Kayce Smith has always had an interest in sports and she is a fan of her Texan home team, the Aggies. She decided to combine her love for sports and her degree in communication in forging her chosen career path. This is the reason right after graduation she applied for a position at the TexAgs radio station as a sports analyst. She was hired right away and worked there for two years, leaving the station in March of 2014.
The next place she sought employment was at the prestigious Fox Station, she joined the sports broadcasting team and worked as a sideline reporter. The role of a sideline reporter is to give live updates on the happenings of each game especially when an injury has occurred. Smith worked at Fox for a short period of three months and after that, she remained without a job for a month.
By the time Kayce Smith returned to broadcasting, she came back with a bang and landed a job at ESPN, which is the number one broadcasting house for sports in the world. At ESPN, she hosted the show The Sidelines, which was a bigger version of what she used to do at Fox; this job exposed her to more clients and proved her competence as a broadcaster.
One of the biggest milestones in Kayce Smith’s life happened while she worked at ESPN, she had been watching a game where her favorite team was playing and they were losing. In anger at her team’s failure she took her jacket off, this reaction led to a bystander, who happened to be a dermatologist, to notice a spot on her back. The spot which Smith had thought to be a birthmark was actually a symptom of a type of skin cancer. The bystander was able to get to her a week later to inform her of the danger she was in. This led to Smith undergoing therapy, luckily it was still in the first stage and in a short time she was healed.
Smith left ESPN in 2016, after working there for two years. Her next project was to create her own show, The Kayce Smith Show. The show focused on the happenings in college football but it did not do well in viewership and was canceled after six months.
After the show got canceled, she worked at NBC in Boston and she was there for a year. In 2018, she began a new job with Barstool Sports, where she currently works till date. Kayce Smith has had a robust career in sports broadcasting and she continues to do a good job with every broadcasting house she works at.
