Born on November 8, 1987, Kazuchika Okada hails from Anjó, Aichi, Japan. At a young age, Okada was interested in sports and participated in track and field events before he got introduced to wrestling through a video game.
Following his new-found sport, Okada was bent on making progress in wrestling and was schooled at the Toryumon Professional Wrestling School where he was trained by Último Dargón. In the school in 2004, he launched as a wrestler and earned the Young Dragons Cup in 2005 before he appeared in promotions like UWA Hardcore Wrestling and Chikara of USA and Canada.
In 2007, Okada made his first appearance in the New Japan Pro-Wrestling where he trained and competed against Shinsuke Nakamura, Hirooki Goto, and Tajiri. Later, he was sent to the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2010 and lost to Alex Shelley and Jay Lethal in different matches and subsequently triumphed over Kid Kash. His name began to be heard in different places, especially because he started appearing in live matches and further became more comfortable defeating his opponents and took the name of Okato in his career before switching back to his birth name Okada.
Okada made his return to the NJPW in 2010 with random appearances. He teamed up with Hirooki Goto at the Wrestle Kingdom V in Tokyo Dome, later went back to the United States and TNA before he found his way back to the NJPW. Okada from his sporadic entrances teamed up with several wrestlers including Ryusuke Taguchi, Togi Makabe, Charlie Haas, Josh Daniels, Tiger, and Mask.
Following his several appearances in Mexico, US and Japan wrestle contests, Okada seemed ready to start a fight and come out victorious in many beginning from 2012 with his battle with Yoshi-Hashi. He further won the matches against Tanahashi, to become the IWGP Heavyweight Champion for the first time; defeated Tetsuya Naito, Hirooki Goto, KARL Anderson among others. In his series of wins, he was able to defend his IWGP championship, became the youngest G1 Climax winner in history among others.
Throughout his career as a wrestler, he has wrestled with numerous wrestlers including Chris Jericho, Minoru Suzuki, Michael Elgin, Jay White, Bad Luck Fale, Zack Sabre Jr., Katsuyori Shibata among others.
