Kennedy Nzechukwu is a Nigerian mixed martial artist widely admired for his zeal and audacious spirit. He competes in the Light Heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

1. He is 32 Years Old
Kennedy Nzechukwu was born on June 13, 1992, which means he is 32 years old at the moment. Records have it that he was born and raised in Imo state; the South-Eastern part of Nigeria.
Information about his early life and family background is limited. However, he often makes comments about his mother and siblings. We presume that those are his closest family members.
2. Kennedy Nzechukwu Relocated to the United States in 2010
As hinted above, the MMA fighter was born in Nigeria. However, he left the country at the age of 18 to proceed with his studies in the United States.
He also revealed that after seeing the likes of Chuck Liddell and Gracies fight to make a living, he became more drawn to the United States.
3. He Dropped Out of College Following his Mother’s ALS Diagnosis
Kennedy was already settled in one of the colleges in the United State when his mother suddenly fell ill in 2014. The mother of two was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS); a nervous system disease that disrupts muscle control by affecting the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
Consequently, the MMA fighter had to drop out of school to care for his mother. It was at this point that she urged him to pursue his passion.
Even though he had always been a great lover of the combat sport and even fantasized about becoming an MMA fighter, it wasn’t until 2015 that this became a reality after training with the Fortis MMA.
4. The Mixed Martial Artist Made his UFC Debut in 2019
Upon his completion from the Fortis MMA; one of the best mixed martial art facilities in Dallas, the Nigerian-born contended in many series including; the Xtreme Knockout organization, Dana White’s Contender Series 7, and Dana White’s Contender Series 16.
Following his victory over Dennis Bryant on August 7, 2018, at Dana White’s Contender Series 16, he was offered a contract with the UFC.
He made his debut against Paul Craig on March 30 2019 at UFC but unfortunately lost in the third round via triangle choke. Speaking about this, Nzechukwu said the fight challenge him to improve and work on himself.
Since then, the MMA fighter has gone against the likes of Darko Stosic, Carlos Ulberg, Daniel Marques, Jung Da Un, Nicolae Negumereanu, and Karl Roberson. From his professional stats, he has recorded 10 wins and 3 losses howbeit these records will change when he contends against Ion Cutelaba on November 19, 2022, at UFC Fight Night 215.
