Kyle Hill is a retired professional basketball star whose career spanned from 2001 when he made the NBA draft until 2012 when he retired. He played in the  Euroleague, Greek Basketball League, the Italian league, and Serbia before he ended his career. After his career came to an end, he continued as a private coach.

This player was born Kyle Eric Hill on the 7th of April, 1979 in Chicago Illinois. Kyle has once described his childhood as not being easy especially as he grew on the south side of Chicago which is known for its high crime rate and low standard of living.

His father, Gregory Taylor worked at the University of Chicago and on a few occasions, he would take Kyle over to the court at the university where he would just shoot hoops. As he grew older he credits his mother, Linda with making a decision that changed the life of the Hill family, decided that the family move out of the south side and got an apartment in the suburbs.

When the family moved, Kyle got enrolled at Argo Community High School, which is located in Summit. He was able to have access to this school because the family had moved to Justice which was in the same Cook County district as Summit.

At Argo, Kyle Hill joined the school’s basketball team where he was the MVP player of his school’s team. The legacy he left at the school led to the retirement of his jersey in 2015. In 1997, he graduated from Argo and on the sports scholarship he was privy to have, Kyle Hill went to Eastern Illinois University. At Eastern Illinois, he once again showed himself as a viable player.

When his time at this university came to an end, Hill joined the 2001 draft, where he was picked by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2 round of the draft. In that year he was the 43rd pick of the entire draft. However, on that same day, the Mavericks traded his to the Houston Rockets. He had described this draft day was been the happiest and proudest day of his life.

He, however, chose not to play for the rockets, this decision led to him moving to Europe to play professionally. ASVEL, the French team was the first team he played with n Europe. He was with them for two years before leaving in 2002 to Pau-Orthez, another French team. Kyle Hill played basketball professionally for eleven years, and in this time he never returned to the American league. Instead, he spent his time working with different teams in different European countries.

Kyle Hill played for a total of twelve teams in France, Greece, Italy, Bosnia and some other European countries. His time in Europe was helpful for his career and he received many accolades for his prowess and skill as a player. Kyle Hill retired from playing the game in 2012.

He currently works as a coach; Hill mostly provides private coaching services. Coaching for Hill is something he sees not as a job but as a way to unlock the true potential of athletes and seeing his students believe in themselves and grow confident in their skill is the best part of his job for him.
