On September 30, 2023, Griffa faced English boxer Ellie Scotney for the IBF super bantamweight title at the Wembley Arena and lost by unanimous decision. Apparently, the fight was a close encounter, as one judge scored 100-91 in favor of Griffa and the other two scored 99-91 in favor of Scotney, who maintained that the Argentine kept coming.
The fight was Griffa’s fourth attempt at a world title and her first outside of Argentina or France. Sadly, she was unable to pull off an upset and become the first Argentine woman to win an IBF title.
