Ramon and his wife wanted their children to have better lives than theirs. Ramon worked as a mechanic at Azusa Greens Country Club.
In 2007, Salas graduated from Azusa High School where she played on the boys’ golf team, she later earned a golf scholarship to the University of Southern California (USC) and graduated in 2011.

Salas made her first appearance in a professional tournament after she qualified for the U.S Women’s Open. At the tournament, she shot 79-77 and missed the cut. In June 2011, she turned professional just after she graduated from university.
She competed in seven tournaments and finished 45th on the Symetra Tour money list in the Symetra tour in 2011. She was also at the LPGA Qualifying School in 20011 finishing 20th which made her earned full status on the LPGA Tour for 2012.
Salas tied for second at the Meijer LPGA Classic in 2015 which made her career earnings exceeded the $2 million mark.
That same year, she competed on the U.S. Solheim Cup team for the second time. She finished sixth on in driving accuracy and 10th in putting average. She had a total record of eight top-10 finishes and also four top-5 finishes in 2017.
At the swinging skits LPGA Taiwan Championship, she had her season-best which was a T3 finish.
In 2018, Salas competed for the third time on the U.S. Solheim Cup team. She recorded four top-10 finishes including runner-up finishes at the Kia Classic and the Indy Women in Tech Championship.
In 2019, she competed on her fourth U.S. Solheim Cup team with a 6-6-2 overall record and also broke the $ 1 million mark in single-season earnings for the first time in 2019 with top-five finishes at the AIG Women’s British Open and KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
