There are claims that Natasha Jonas was Once Engaged

Natasha Jonas was purportedly engaged sometime in 2016 to an unknown, unnamed man. Possibly the father of her daughter, Mela, whom she birthed a year before the engagement.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like things worked out well for the couple who are no longer together. There are also no signs of the 5 feet 8 inches Southpaw boxer in any romantic relationship now either.

In recent times, the 5-time ABA Championship winner shares stuff about just her daughter and no man. She doesn’t make reference to any husband or even baby daddy.

The 41-year-old professional boxer initially thought that having a baby would ruin her career. She admitted, while abandoning her amateur career, that she thought that would be the end of her career.

She wanted to have a baby, though. At the time, she was done with her amateur career and nothing major was coming through for her. She then thought it was the best time to become a mother and so she went for it.

However, she returned back to the scene after a couple of years and that which she feared would ruin her, is now her biggest motivation.

Natasha Would’ve Been a Football Player Like Her Younger Sister

Starting off in the world of sports, Natasha Jonas would have been a football player. She initially had an interest in that sport and went after her passion.

She spent 1 year and 6 months at St. Peter’s College, USA training to be a football player, on scholarship. Unfortunately for the aspiring athlete, she suffered an injury that prevented her football career from kick-off.

Her younger sister, Nikita Parris, is living that dream for both of them. Parris is an English professional football player for Manchester United (2023). She has played for other top teams including Everton, Arsenal, and Manchester City.

As if losing the ability to play Football professionally isn’t bad enough, Jonas also has to deal with her daughter choosing her aunt’s career over hers.

Natasha Jonas is the First British Woman to Qualify for the Olympic Games

Most of Natasha’s amateur career ended before she had her daughter, Mela, in 2015. She started boxing in 2005 and 5 years later, she won 5 ABA Championships for the Liverpool club, Rotunda ABC.

She had a pretty good amateur career run from the moment she started to the end of that phase.

By 2012, Jonas was part of the 2012 AIBA Women’s World Amateur Boxing Championship. She reached the semi-finals of the competition and qualified for the Olympic Games. She is the first British boxer to have achieved such a feat.

She went home with the bronze medal and qualified for the 2012 London Olympics. She unfortunately lost at the quarter-finals stage to Katie Taylor who she still has hopes of meeting in the ring.

Natasha is the first woman to have ever won the British Boxing Board of Control’s 2022 Boxer of the Year Award. She took home this title after her return to boxing upon retiring in 2015.

The Light-middleweight boxer has since also recorded a decent record for herself, losing only 2 of her first 16 fights and drawing 1.

Additionally, she has won titles such as the WBC, WBO Ring Magazine, and IBF Championship titles.

Natasha Jonas is set to make an impact with her fight against Kandi Wyatt and in the end, go home with a second weight world championship title.

With her eyes set on retiring by 2024, Natasha Jonas still has a couple of fighters in mind. She has plans on fighting and beating Katie Taylor as already stated, as well as Chantelle Cameron.
