Among the popular figures who have gotten infected by the virus are some National Basketball Association (NBA) stars. Several basketball players have tested positive to the coronavirus and have since sought medical attention to help them survive the deadly disease. NBA Stars Who Have Tested Positive To The Coronavirus
Like we have mentioned earlier, several NBA stars have already tested positive for the coronavirus and this has prompted the NBA to shut down indefinitely. Below are the players who tested positive.
Rudy Gobert
Rudy Gobert is a French professional basketball player who plays for the Utah Jazz of the NBA. Known for his incredible defensive abilities, Gobert also represents the French national basketball team in international competitions and is widely renowned for his skills on the court.
According to our findings, Rudy Gobert was the first NBA star to test positive for coronavirus. The basketball star tested positive on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. That same day, he was scheduled to play a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Earlier, he had undertaken some tests because he was not feeling too well but felt he could still play in the game against Oklahoma City Thunder on March 11. However, his test results came in before the game started and it showed that he had coronavirus.
The game was immediately canceled and that night, the NBA suspended the 2019-20 regular season. As expected Gobert immediately went into self-isolation and sought treatment for the disease. According to sources, he has since recovered.
Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell is an American professional basketball player who also plays for the Utah Jazz of the NBA. Admired for his skill as a creator in the half-court, Mitchell has already won fans for himself and is set to become one of the big names in the NBA.
Mitchell is also on f the NBA stars who was found out to have coronavirus. The basketball star tested positive for coronavirus shortly after his teammate, Rudy Gobert tested positive. Donovan Mitchell took to his Instagram page on March 12, 2020, to announce that he had the coronavirus and used the opportunity to ask people to take care of themselves and take proper precautions.
Mitchell has also recovered from the disease.
Christian Wood
Christian Wood is an American professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons of the NBA. Wood is respected for his phenomenal skill set which includes shot-blocking and guard skills. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and won the 2018 Slam Dunk Contest.
News emerged on March 15, 2020, that Christian Wood had tested positive for the deadly coronavirus and was in self-isolation receiving treatment. This made him the third person to test positive for the virus in the NBA following the tests conducted on his team.
Like the other NBA stars mentioned above, Wood has also recovered from the disease.
Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA. Durant is regarded as one of the great basketball stars in the NBA because of his finishing ability which is aptly enhanced by his jump shooting skills. It was on March 17, 2020, that news emerged that Kevin Durant had tested positive for the coronavirus and was in self-isolation. The news caught his fans off-guard and got his name on many lips. Confirming the news, Durant asked his fans to ensure that they take care of themselves and quarantine.
According to reports, three other Brooklyn Nets players also tested positive for the virus along with Kevin Durant but they were not named. Durant has since recovered from the disease and is now symptom-free.

Marcus Smart
Marcus Smart is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Boston Celtics of the NBA. The basketball star is admired for his scoring ability as well as his skills as an excellent passer and playmaker.
On March 19, 2020, the Boston Celtics made a public statement announcing that one of their players had tested positive for coronavirus. However, they did not name the payer.
Shortly after, Marcus Smart revealed that he was the player who was mentioned in the statement. He took to his social media pages to tell fans that he tested positive for the coronavirus but was doing fine and that he was self-isolating. He also urged people to practice social distancing because the disease was very real.
