Nikita Parris is an English football player who plays for the England women’s national football team as well as for French women’s football club, Olympique Lyon. Playing as a forward, she has an amazing record when it comes to her goal-scoring prowess.
She has played for England at the youth level and after her exploits, she made it to the senior team where she emerges at the top scorer during the World Cup 2019 qualifying, helping her team qualify with her 6 goals.

It was on 10 March 1994 that she was born in Toxteth, England. She was raised in a house with many people and because of that, the kids were always made to go out and play. Football was what they chose to play.
Nikita used to go out with her father to watch her brothers play Sunday League. She revealed that each time she heard the shouts of the crowd, she wished it was about her, and that drove her even more to play the sports.
When she started playing football, her next-door neighbor was the coach of Kingsley United in Liverpool. At the age of seven, she joined the club after he invited her even though the team was for all boys. Much later, the girl’s team of the club also began. The team had her sister, cousin, and other members of her family.
Football Career
From Kingston, Nikita Parris made it to Everton Ladies COE for her youth career. There, she played for two years from 2008 to 2010 before she gained promotion to the senior team of the club. By 2015 when she left the club for Manchester City, she had already netted 12 goals in 37 appearances.
Following a loan deal in 2015 to Manchester City where she scored 4 goals in 13 games, the Manchester team decided to give her a permanent deal, signing her in 2016. 72 games later and 37 goals to her name, Nikita moved to the Division 1 Féminine side Olympique Lyon in 2019. The move was on a free transfer following her four years with City.
In the English colors, Nikita Parris played at the Under-17 level from 2009 to 2010, and then from 2010 to 2013, she played for the Under-17 team netting 18 goals in 26 appearances. Next, she played for the Under-20 team in 2014, then the Under-23 team from then until 2016.
In 2016, she was invited to play for the 3 Lionesses for which she still plays. In her first 32 games, she recorded 11 goals.
Her career has been decorated with many awards and accolades. She is an FA Women’s Super League champion in 2016, the same year she won the FA WSL Cup. In 2017, she won the FA Women’s Cup.
She is selected to represent England at the 2019 FIFA women’s world cup where she is obviously one of the players to look out for at the tournament.
Family
As already stated, Nikita is raised in a very large family with other brothers and sisters including Natasha Jonas. The two share a father but they have different mothers and each is using the surname of her mother.
As a little girl growing up, Nikita’s family is very much into sports, most especially football. That is the sport that was played by her brothers and sister, Natasha who played at the college level and even got a scholarship to an American university. Natasha was forced to return to the UK after she suffered an injury that would lead her to give up the sport and then she took to boxing.
She has a twin sister, Kelsie who used to be a footballer. Kelsie would come to leave the sport after scoring too many own goals enough to make her not want to play again.
