Raheem Sterling is a top soccer player who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for Manchester City FC of England and the 3 Lions of England National Team. His dexterity and speed with the ball earned him the reputation of a lethal attacker. Whenever the ball is before him, he tricks defenders and fines the back of the net seamlessly.

The desire to kick the ball came to him at a tender age; he mastered the art, built his skills and big teams came running after him. Before joining Manchester City in 2015, he played for Liverpool FC; becoming one of the club’s fine scorers.

Who Is Raheem Sterling?

Raheem Sterling was born Raheem Shaquille Sterling on the 8th December 1994 in Kingston, the Capital city of Jamaica. He was catered for by his mother Nadine Clarke and his Father whose name is not known. He is currently 30 years old.

In search of a better life, Sterling and his mother moved to the UK where the young boy started life. Talking about his racial background, he is a British citizen and a Jamaican by birth.

Nadine wanted a better life and education for her son, so he enrolled at Copland School in Wembley. But because of his high-headedness, they later transferred him to a specialist school in Neasden, called Vernon House.

His soccer playing career started at Queens Park Rangers (QPR) at 5. He later joined Liverpool in 2010 and featured the club’s youth team. In 2012, the attacker was called to the senior team, where he played for 3 years, before joining Manchester City for a fee of £49 million in July 2015.

Since joining the club, he has played in 194 EPL games and netted 78 goals.

Besides his dexterity on the field of play, the winger is a proud father of 3 kids. The 3 kids result from the relationship he shared with two women. His estranged girlfriend, Melissa Clarke gave birth to his first child and daughter Melody Rose in 2012. His current lover and partner, Paige Milan gave birth to his 2 songs; Thiago and Thai.

Whenever he is free from doing what he knows how to do best, he spends quality time with them. He always showers them with gifts and celebrates their birthdays.

The attacking midfielder and winger earns a weekly salary of £300, 000 and banks £15. 6 million annually from playing for Manchester City. Various media outfits estimated the player’s net worth to be £32 million ($45 million). He amassed this amount from his soccer playing career alongside some endorsement deals.

Though the media could not dig out anything tangible about Sterling’s father, available information revealed that he is dead. He died in Jamaica when the boy was 2. So; the attacker was single-handedly raised by his mother.

Sterling’s grandmother was credited with giving him the middle name Shaquille. She lived in the US and intended to name her grandson after the renowned former NBA player and Sports anchor Shaquille O’Neal.
