2023 will make it a complete decade since Bantamweight fighter Sean O’Malley began the journey to his career. He is a professional mixed martial artist who is currently participating in the Ultimate Fighting Championship as a Bantamweight fighter.

Career Insights
From 2011, he was already part of a team known as Team Proven Grounds till 2014. Sean O’Malley began training to become a fighter at the MMA Lab in Glendale, Arizona. The lab was run by a head trainer known as John Crouch, however, Sean was trained by Coach Tim Welch.
The beginning of his fights started in Montana where he fought 5 matches before moving to North Dakota. Here, O’Malley fought with David Nuzzo while with the Legacy Fighting Alliance.

Moving on, he took on Jose Alberto Quinonez in March 2020 after pulling out of two previous matches on account of drug test failures. Those matches missed were supposed to be against Jose Alberto on October 6 2018 and Vera Marlon on July 6, 2019.
He won the match against Alberto with a TKO in the first round and he also won a Performance of the Night award because of the match.
On 6th June 2020, O’Malley fought against Eddie Wineland at the UFC 250. Eddie is a WEC Bantamweight Champion but was put out with a one-punch knockout in the first round.
By August 15, 2020, Sean O’Malley was to face his first loss ever to Marlon Vera. It was during the co-main event of the UFC 252 and the loss was in the first round.
On the 27th of March the next year, Sugar met with Thomas Almeida whom he finally won via knockout in the third round of the match. The martial artist was then scheduled to face Louis Smolka on the 10th of July 2021 at UFC 264.
Louis pulled out of the game in June stating that he had injuries that wouldn’t let him perform. He was then replaced by Kris Moutinho who was a promotional newcomer. Sean knocked out Kris in all three rounds of the game and won the Fight of the Night award for it.
His last match so far was with Raulian Paiva on the 11th day of December 2021. He won the fight by a total knockout in the first round and went home with the Performance of the Night bonus award.
The UFC fighter’s next match is scheduled to be on the 2nd of July 2022 at the UFC 276. He would be facing Pedro Munhoz on that day.
