Fulton was born to Stephen Fulton Sr. and Commaleana Moore on July 17, 1994 in Philadelphia. Though the combat sports fighter is known for his prowess in the ring, this was not the case for his parents.
Admittedly, his childhood was an eventful one which was a result of his father’s incarceration and his mother’s struggle with cocaine addiction.
Stephen Fulton’s Sr.
As mentioned earlier, Stephen’s father was absent during the fighter’s childhood as a result of a prison sentence. Apparently, Fulton Sr. was caught during a robbery operation a few months after Stephen was born. Following this, Fulton Sr. was given a maximum sentence of 15 years and this essentially meant that by the time he came out, his son would be a teenager.
Thankfully, being behind bars gave Cool Boy Steph’s father the opportunity to think deeply about his son and how he wanted to be a better father. He made the decision to give Fulton Jr. all the support he needed once he left the walls of a prison.
Fulton’s father served ten years and came out when Stephen was 12. From this point, Fulton Sr. started influencing his son’s career. As the story goes, Fulton took Stephen to a local mosque where they met Hamza Muhammad, a boxing trainer who is said to be a family friend. Muhammad learned that Stephen was always getting into fights and this made the trainer give the teenager an invitation. As they say, the rest became history, as he trained and made his professional debut in 2014 against Isaac Badger.
Commaleana Moore
Like his father, Stephen’s mother had her own issues. While Stephen Sr. ended up in prison, Commaleanna Moore’s battle was with drug addiction. She is said to be a cocaine user but still managed to raise Stephen as a single mother.

He Has Other Siblings
Though he is the most famous member of his family, it turns out that the boxer is not an only child. According to reports, he grew up alongside three siblings, all females. His oldest sister, Ilyana did a hands-on job in his upbringing. It would be recalled that Cool Boy Steph was born with a hole in his back which has been linked to poor development of muscles.
Thus, Ilyana stepped up and started cleaning his wound. Aside from cleaning his wounds, Ilyana is said to have been the one who changed his diapers when he was a little child. Aside from this known detail, his siblings live quietly making it difficult to garner details about them.
Stephen Fulton Is Not Married
From what richathletes.com gathered, the former IBO super bantamweight champion is not married at the time of filing this report. We observed from his social media updates that the 5 ft 6-inch tall boxer prefers to keep his love life away from the glaring public eyes while focusing the attention on his career and developments in the contenders he will meet.
Regardless of this, he has been linked to Tiffany Jubilee whom he welcomed a child named Abdul Muqtadir with sometime in September 2016.
He Moved his Family Away to Protect Them
Noticeably, the bantamweight boxer moved his family into a northwest apartment away from the violence of his childhood neighborhood in west Philadelphia called Black Bottom. Apparently, the move was prompted after they experienced gunshots which led to a killing outside their home.
One would wonder why this shooting had such a profound impact on the combat sports fighter. According to him, this incident was one too many and he needed to protect his family. Away from this, the incident reminded Cool Boy Steph of other childhood friends like Kyrell Tyler, a Philadelphia dirt bike rider who was shot dead in 2014.
Since that move, it is interesting to note that Stephen has not shared pictures of him and Tiffany. However, he has shown commitment to giving his son a good shot at life. No wonder, he shares pictures of them at the gym or at fun spots.
