Tameka Yallop is an Australian international soccer player currently playing in England for West Ham United of the FA WSL and the Australian Women’s national team. In the past, the midfielder played in America for Boston Breakers, Germany for FFC Frankfurt, Japan for Iga FC Kunoichi, Sweden for Mallbackens, and Brisbane Roar in Australia.

She has been wearing her country’s international colors since 2007, having played at the under-17 and under-19 levels, before joining the senior team.

1. Her Brief Background And Age

Tameka Yallop was born in Orange, New South Wales, Australia by her parents on 16th June 1991. she is currently 33 years old. Details regarding her family background, childhood, and education are not available.

2. Yollop Played For A Good Number of Clubs

Before the midfielder joined Brisbane Roar in 2008, she was at the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) where she developed her soccer skills. During her time at Brisbane Roar, she was awarded the Westfield W-League Players Player Award for the 2012/13 season.

In 2012, she joined the Boston Breakers of the Women’s Premier Soccer League Elite (WPSL Elite) in the first-tier division of women’s soccer in the US. After playing one season, Yallop moved to Germany to play for Frauen-Bundesliga side 1.FFC Frankfurt for the 2013/14 season.

She was sent on loan to the Japanese club Iga FC Kunoichi in May 2014 but later returned to Brisbane Roar again. Two years later, she joined the Swedish side Mallbackens.

After playing for a year in Sweden, she moved to Norway and played for Klepp between 2017 and 2018. She joined Melbourne City for the 2018/19 W-League season.

Yallop returned to Brisbane Roar again for the 2019/20 W-League season and signed for West Ham United in England in May 2021.

3. The Midfielder Represented The Matildas At Different Levels

Yallop has been playing for the Matildas since 2007. Before getting an invite to join the senior side. She has represented the country at different youth levels starting from the under-17 where she was part of the team 2007 AFC Women’s Under-17 Asian Championship.

In 2008, the midfielder played in the 2008 AFC Women’s Under-20 Asian Championship. She was also the captain of the under-20 side from 2007 to 2009.

As for the senior side, Yollop played in the 2010 AFC Women’s Asian Cup which the Matildas went on to win. She played at the 2011 and 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Though she was listed in the team that represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Olympics, however, she didn’t feature in any of the games.

4. She Became The First Brisbane Roar Player To Reach The 50 Goals Mark

Yallop set a new club record by becoming the first Brisbane Roar player (at men, women, and youth team) to net 50 goals for the club. She broke the record after scoring a goal in the first match of the 2019/20 season for the club.

5. She Scored Scored Her First Olympic Goal In Her Olympic Debut

Though she was named in the Australian team for the Rio 2016 Olympics but didn’t play any in any of the Matildas’ games. She has gotten her chance this time around and she did it grand style with a goal. It took Yallop only 20 minutes to score her first goal in her first Olympic appearance in a 2-1 win over New Zealand at the Tokyo Stadium.

The midfielder married former New Zealand international footballer Kristy Yallop.  They got married on the 9th February 2019 in the presence of their friends and family in Mangawhai, New Zealand.

Before the marriage, the two were teammates at the Norwegian club Klepp IL.

7. She Dropped Her Name For Kristy’s

Before her marriage to the former New Zealand international, the midfielder was known as Tameka Butt. But she changed it to Yallop 2 months after her wedding to Kristy.

She changed the name on her jersey to reflect that of her partner.

8. She and Her Partner Welcome Their Daughter In 2020

The Australian midfielder and her partner Kristy Yallop welcomed their daughter Harley Rose. She was born on the 21st of August 2020. As at the time of her, the weighed 2.59kg.

Having two mum that played professional football means it’s possible she would grow up to become one. But where would she represent since one is played for Ferns of New Zealand and the other for the Matildas of Australia?
