Tanner Boser is a Canadian MMA fighter currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Born and raised in Bonnyville, the 6 ft 2 inches tall fighter grew up with his mother who was a gym owner, and his father, an oil field worker.
While growing up, Tanner Boser got trained in karate before he decided to follow his brother Landon, who is also a professional mixed martial artist. Asides from being an MMA fighter, Boser has worked as a bouncer and a paramedic in the past.

Tanner Boser was Tanner Vilbon Nicholas Boser on August 2, 1991. He was raised in Bonnyville, Alberta, Canada by his gym owner mother and oil field father. Although not all his siblings are known, his brother, Landon is also a professional MMA fighter.
Upon graduating from high school, Boser spent a couple of years as a truck driver while working in the local oilfield industry.
Since his mother owned a gym, Boser and his friends would train. From there, he started training and competing in karate until his late teens. Fitness has also been a major part of his family. Tanner once revealed he was chubby while growing up and that his mother would make him get on the treadmill.
He took interest in martial arts after started seeing UFC events on television. As soon as he got a black belt, he stopped training and focused on becoming an MMA fighter.
His brother, Landon is a jiu-jitsu teacher at High Energy gym. Landon also trained in karate and martial arts while growing up. Tanner’s first jiu-jitsu teacher was Jake Sansom.
Tanner Boser Made His Professional Mixed Martial Arts Debut in 2012
Although Boser had no knowledge of martial arts, he took advantage of his karate background to make his debut in MMA in 2012. As soon as he did that, he started training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
During his early career years, Boser works as a bouncer for six years to be able to meet up with his financial demands. Also, he once thought of becoming a paramedic that he even took an Emergency Medical Technician course.
As time goes by, he decided to focus on his training in MMA full-time. He began to travel around the world to compete. With that, he went on to become a two-time Unified MMA Heavyweight Champion and also defended the belt three times. He soon signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2019.
His first fight with UFC was delayed but he eventually made his UFC debut against Daniel Spitz on October 18, 2019. He continued to face MMA fighters like Ciryl Gane and Jeff Hughes and in no time, his contract was renewed.
Tanner Boser mostly fights as a heavyweight but he has occasional bouts as a light heavyweight.
