Vanity Alpough is the wife of retired NBA player and ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins, to whom she has been married for 15 years now. Her husband spends almost 15 years playing in the NBA for teams such as Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City, Thunder, Cleveland, Cavaliers, and New Orleans Pelicans, before retiring in 2018. Upon his retirement, he became a sports analyst and commentator.

1. She Hails From The Same State As Her Husband
It was on 7th July 1985 in Port Arthur, Texas that she was born to Thomas and Julie Alpough. She grew up in Port Arthur where she attended Memorial High School and graduated in 2003. After high school education, she proceeded to a college in Boston, however, other reports indicate that she attended Middlesex Community College in Bedford.
Her husband on the other hand was born in Nederland, Texas on 10th November 1984 and was raised by his grandparents after his mother died. He attended Clifton J. Ozen High School.
2. Vanity Alpough and Her Husband Were High School Sweethearts
According to reports, the 39 year-old and Perkins knew each other since high school days. Although they attended different high schools, Vanity revealed in an interview that they were sweethearts since 11th grade, while her husband always tells people that it was in 10th grade.
3. She Married Perkins Few Days After Her 24th Birthday
The Port Arthur native tied the knots with Kendrick Perkins whom she dated since high school days on 25th July 2009. The wedding ceremony took place at the Carlton Woods Country Club in Woodlands, Texas, and had more than 200 guests in attendance including family, friends, and then teammates of her husband.
Interestingly, the wedding seems to be significant to Vanity as earlier mentioned, she was born in July. She marked her 24th birthday 18 days before the wedding.
4. She Experienced Her First Taste of Motherhood 2 Years Prior to Her Wedding
She had her first taste of the joys of motherhood 2 years before exchanging her marital vows with Perkins, giving birth to Kendrick Perkins ll on 10th September 2007. Two years after the wedding and four years after having her first child, she welcomed Kenxton on 10th October 2011.
The family later extended their number to 6 when she had twins. She gave birth to Zoey and Karter on the 20th of October 2016.
5. Her Nephew Has Undergone Multiple Heart Surgeries Since He Was An Infant
In February 2021, the mother of four shared the shocking story of her nephew Torris Alpough Jr who has had multiple heart surgeries since he was 14 days old on Instagram. According to her, they were told he wasn’t going to make it severally, however, he is still breathing.

6. Her Husband’s NBA Career Hindered Her From Pursuing A Career
While her husband was still playing in the NBA, Vanity was unable to do some of the things she wanted to do as regards her career or establishing a business. She reveals in an interview how scared she was to do anything because they were always moving. It was counter-productive to be running a business far from where she lives.
For instance, she started something in Oklahoma City while her husband was still playing for the team, and then he was traded. Moreover, she spoke about how her credits weren’t transferred from a Boston college after her man got traded again.
7. She Runs An Online Store For Ladies’ Hair and Accessories, And Also a Dating App
Despite not being able to establish a stable business or launch a career during her husband’s NBA days, the mother of four is successfully making use of the digital space to run separate businesses.
Firstly, she is the owner of an online store “vanityforever.style” which deals in ladies’ hair and accessories, ranging from virgin human hair bundles to lace closure and lace frontal. Secondly, she launched a now meet app “WinknDrink” in 2021 to provide an avenue for people to socialize through dates and get-togethers alongside food and drinks.
