Christine Simpson is a Canadian on-air personality, host, and interviewer best known for her sports reporting. Over the years she has become one of the well-known faces in sports with regards to hockey.

Apart from being a well-recognized face, her family members have been involved in different sporting events over the years.

While we are used to seeing her behind the camera doing what she knows how to do best, many will like to know more about her. Who is she married to and what are the fascinating details about her?

Christine Laura Simpson is her full name and she was born on 5 October 1964 in London, Ontario. Her parents, Don and Marion Simpson may have passed their love of sports to Christine and her siblings. Christine has three siblings, Jan, Craig,, and Dave Simpson. She is currently 60 years old.

She graduated from the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario.

Her family has always been linked to sports. Both of her parents have been involved with one sporting event or the other and the children grew up in a world of sports.

Has She Ever Been Married?

Christine Simpson has been in front of the media lights for years but when it comes to her relationship, she is private about it.

Since nothing is known about her relationships, it is safe to say that she may not be married.

1. She Worked At The Hockey Hall Of Fame

She made a living working in the Hockey Hall of fame before she switched to sportscasting.

While still staff at the Hockey hall of fame, Christine was the marketing manager.

Her move to full-time broadcasting came after she became the first in-arena host for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

2. Christine Simpson First Worked With Rogers Sportsnet

Looking at how far she has gone in her career, one can’t help but ask where she started from.

Her first network job was with Rogers Sportsnet. Christine spent ten years working for the company. She started with them when it first launched in 1998.

Her work involved writing features and profiling of NHL top players and personalities. Christine also hosted Showtime With Chris Simpson as part of her entertainment and sports stories segment.

3. Her Mother Was A Cheerleader For The Mustangs 

Long before Christine was born, her mother was on the cheerleader wear and pom-pom cheering for the Mustangs football team.

Also, her mother was a gifted sprinter who participated in the Olympics.

4. Christine Simpsons Father Was A Fullback  

Not to be left out, her father, Don was a full back for the Mustangs.

Since her parents have been into sports for a long, it will not be wrong to jokingly say, the Simpson’s were handed the flair in their genes.

5. Hosting Captains

She became an international sportscaster when she did her weekly  Captains. The reports were broadcast for the NHL in the US in collaboration with ABC, ESPN, and NBCSN.

Captains profiled the lives of NHL players based in the US and Canada. This made her a hockey insider for other shows.

6. Christine Simpson Movie Roles

Her other talents may land her in the heart of Hollywood. She acted the part of Donna Evans in her debut movie, Saw 3D.

Following this appearance, she appeared as a guest in the hit Television show, Friends in 2002. Christine played the role of Martha Mathers.

Her career has lasted over many decades. Over these years she was made a lot of earning.  Christine earns from her career as a TV host, presenter, and sports reporter.

Though she has not revealed how much she makes. many of the guesses from sources around her say she may have much as $4 million pounds.

8. Her Brother Played 10 Seasons In The National Hockey League

The Simpson’s love for sport may be in the blood. her brother, Craig was a professional player with the National Hockey League.

He played 10 seasons moving to differents sides before hanging his hockey stick. Craig played the ice hockey winger positions for Pittsburg, Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, and Buffalo Sabres.

9. Craig Simpson Was The First To Score 50 Goals In A Season

One of her brother’s career records is the 50 goals scored in one season split between two teams, Edmonton and Pittsburg.

His goal streaks came to an end during the playoff runs in 1992. He was sidelined due to a Larry Robinson check that separated his shoulder.

This complicated his health for the rest of his career with the Oilers. Craig suffered many back injuries that reduced his playtime.

10. Christine Simpson’s Other Family Members In Sports

The Simpson’s presence in sports has visited another generation. Her nephew, Dillon is currently playing for the National Hockey League.

He was drafted by his father’s former team, the Edmonton Oilers in 2011. Dillon was picked in the 4th round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Presently, he plays for the Cleveland monsters.

Her older brother, Dave was a former CHL player of the year.
