Intriguing Facts About Jaime Arboldea You Need To Know

1. Jaime Arboleda Hails From Curundu, Panama

Jaime Arboleda was born on September 16, 1994, in Curundu, Panama, to his parents. As previously stated, he is currently 30 years old.

Although specifics about his childhood and family background are scarce, Arboleda grew up in Curundu, where he discovered his talent for boxing at the age of six.

He spent the early hours of the morning at the gym of Panamanian boxing legend Pedro “El Rockero” Alcázar at the time. Despite his family’s troubles, he continued to practice under the tutelage of his trainer, Rigoberto Garibaldi.

Although the number of siblings Jaime Arboleda has is unknown, he does have an older brother named Jose Arboleda, who was also a fighter and someone he looked up to. Jose was tragically killed in an accident in 2009.

According to sources, Jaime’s older brother was killed on August 6, 2009, when a bus fell down a cliff and crushed him. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died on August 7, 2006, of internal bleeding.

On the morning of the sad event, Jaime’s mother told him the bad news when he was preparing for school.

To this day, the Panamanian boxer holds on to his late older brother and his family’s memories whenever he fights. He has a heart tattoo with his brother’s name engraved inside.

3. He Started Fighting At The Amateur Level In 2012

There have been conflicting reports of Arboleda’s amateur career. According to Arboleda’s BoxRec records, he began boxing as an amateur in May 2012, making his debut against Anibal Murillo. He then faced Luis Acron in August 2013. Both fights remain the only two fights of his amateur career, and all ended in defeats.

However, according to ringtv.com, the Panamanian was a good amateur who had fought 130 bouts and won the national title at 123 pounds in 2012. After losing in the finals to Olympian Juan Huertas in 2013, he was unable to repeat his previous feat.

He was also a member of Panama’s national boxing team and fought internationally in nations such as Cuba and Chile.

He was knocked out in the third round by Dulay, who threw a strong blow that left him flying to the canvas, causing the referee to stop the fight.

Three months later, the Curundu native was back on track. In October 2017, he defeated Eliecer Lanzas, in March 2018, Elysson Marquez, in August 2018, Joe Saant, in May 2019, and in February 2020, he defeated Jayson Velez.

American boxer Chris Cobalt defeated him in the WBA Interim Super Featherweight title bout in Uncasville, Connecticut, in December 2020, becoming his second professional defeat. Subsequently, he beat Jonathan Victor Barros, Nicolas Planco, and Jonathan Arenas.

Moving on, she and Arboleda have two daughters, Kamille and Miaa. Kamille is the oldest and her birthday is on August 31, 2019, while Miaa (5) was born on May 19, 2019.

7. He Is Of Average Height

Jamie Arboleda stands at 5 feet 9½ inches (1.77m) and has a reach of 72 inches (1.83m). He is considered average for his height.

Furthermore, height and reach are important factors for boxers in the ring. However, there are times when the shorter ones defy all odds and give the taller ones a fight for their money.
