1. Tai Is A Native of New Zealand, Born In Australia
Tai Emery was born on January 3, 1987, in Gladstone Central, Queensland, Australia. She is currently 37 years old.
Her father is a native Maori from New Zealand, while her mother is Australian. Because of this, it was a big deal for her father’s family to have the bare-knuckle boxer and her younger sister, Tani Emery, born and raised in Australia.
As a child, she had her primary school education in Gladstone where she was a school captain, and later attended a high school in IIowa, and served as a house captain and a student executive. In addition, she was a straight-A student, excelling in sciences.
2. She Went Through Two Adopted Homes In Australia
The bare-knuckle boxer’s family got separated when she was 8, and went through two adopted homes (The Wipers and The Connolly Family) as a result. She first got into the “Going Into The System” as it is called in Australia when she was about 14 or 15 with the Wipers, and subsequently the Connollys.
Her younger sister, Tani Emery on the other hand didn’t join any adoption home in Australia, she moved in with a family in the United States.

When Tai spent her teen years in the two adopted homes, she went through experiences that taught her how to hustle and stand on her feet. 4. She Wanted To Join The Airforce After High School But Took To Modeling
Tai Emery’s aspiration while growing up was to join the airforce, serve her country, and make a difference, but she relinquished that dream and became a model. Immediately after high school graduation, she modeled for magazines such as Ralph and Zoom between the ages of 17 and 19.
The 37-year-old knew about modeling through one of her best friends who also pushed her into it. Also, it was that same best friend that taught her how to use mascara and eyeliner.
5. The Bare-Knuckle Boxer Did A 4-Year Apprenticeship To Become An Electrician
While Tai was still modeling, she engaged in a 4-year apprenticeship to become an electrician. In order to avoid having a clash, she made sure that her modeling gigs do not tamper with her theory and study time.
Interestingly, she could be in a plane flying to different Australian cities for a shoot in beautiful clothes, and the next day, she is dressed in her apprentice’s clothes digging trenches, entering the ceiling, and inhaling dust. According to her, she is a fusion of both feminity and masculinity.

6. Tai Emery Founded A Business By 23
When she was 23, the Gladstone born started running her own business. This was necessitated by the great depression that hit the world between 2007 and 2009, and thousands of Australians lost their jobs.
During that period, she was already a qualified electrician and applied for over 2000 jobs, and whenever she gets invited for interviews, she was laughed at for being a woman seeking jobs dominated by men. This pushed her into founding the business in Cairns, Australia.
To do business and start running contracts, she earned an extra business degree.
7. She Played In The Legends Football League (LFL)
Tai has always been a sporty person since her primary and high school days. She got the opportunity to get involved in the LFL through one of her friends who made the LFL squad following a tryout in Brisbane. After the tryout, her friend told her that they are looking for extras to be tackling and a running back.
After joining, she played her debut season for Queenslands Brigade in Australia. Due to her stellar performances, she was scouted by American teams, and recruited by Omaha, Atlanta, and Las Vegas. But she was attracted to the gyms in Las Vegas and decided to join the Las Vegas Sin.
After spending 4 seasons, she got tired of the LFL when things started getting a little bit tight. The league tries to control their lives and they don’t get paid. So, she decided to leave at the end of the day.
8. The 37-Year-Old Took To MMA After LFL
Tai Emery moved to Atlanta where she started her MMA training with the American Top Team (ATT) gym. At the time, she had no plans of becoming a professional MMA, but she was convinced by Miesha Tate whom she met in the gym.
The two quickly became friends and Tai started telling Tate about her experiences and the challenges she had in the LFL. Tate invited her to watch a UFC fight in Brisbane and told her she could get the love she previously missed in MMA. That’s when she decided to get into MMA.
She had two amateur MMA fights and lost both. Subsequently, she moved to Thailand where she played in the Lingerie Fighting Championship (LFC).
9. Tai Won Her First Bare-Knuckle Fight
The former LFL star signed for Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) in 2021, and made her debut in 2022. She fought Thai, Rung-Arun Khunchai on 3rd September, and defeated her opponent a few seconds into the fight.
Tai dropped Khunchai in the first round through a two-punch combination; a right uppercut and a left hook.
The BKFC boxer surprised everyone with her display of energy and her wild celebration. She jumped on the ropes, pulled down her sports bra, and flashed her br***ts as the crowd cheered.
10. She Is 5 Feet 4 Inches (163cm/1.63m) Tall
The Australian BKFC boxer is 5 feet 4 inches (163cm/1.63m) tall. She is slightly taller than an average woman who is 5 feet 3 inches (161cm/1.63m) tall.
