Her last fight for that was for a world title against the reigning WBC female super bantamweight champion Fatuma Zarika in Nairobi’s Kenyatta International Convention Centre. During a rematch on November 16, 2018, Mercado captured the WBC super bantamweight title via UD over ten rounds.
