Eric Decker was born on March 15, 1987, in Cold Spring, Minnesota in the United States of America. He was born into a middle-class family, and both of his parents were of German heritage. Eric Decker’s father, Thomas Charles Decker, worked as a facilities manager; while his mother, Susan Meyer (nee Weber) worked in a glass manufacturing company as a Sales Supervisor.
His parents filed for divorce when Eric was in second grade. In spite of being divorced, Eric never lacked parental support at all, as his parents came together to support him all through his early life – especially in his sports activities. They always traveled to ensure they were present in all his sporting activities and his football games. Eric had only one sibling growing up, an older sister, Sarah, who was also an athlete – a cross country and track runner, while she was at the University of Columbia, New York, in the United States of America.
Decker attended the Rocori High School in Cold Spring, Minnesota – the same school where the much-reported shooting took place in 2003 when John Jason McLaughlin opened fire on some students, killing two in the process. He was present in school and the day of the shooting and hid in a cupboard with his schoolmates throughout the ordeal until they were rescued by police officers after the situation had been contained.
While in high school, he took part in three different sports actively – basketball, baseball, and football, and he excelled in all three. He was so good that he was named the MVP of the football team for two years back to back.
Eric later went on to study at the University of Minnesota. He excelled in college football with very impressive statistics. In 2019, he met with Coach Thomas Goudy, who helped him greatly with his ball-holding techniques.
In 2010, Eric signed his first professional contract with the Denver Broncos, it was a four-year deal worth $ 2.5 million. In June 2017, the Jets officially released him. About a week later, Eric Eric penned a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans, worth $ 3.85 million. In August 2018, Eric signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots.
On August 26, 2018, Eric announced his retirement from actively playing football in the NFL.

Eric is happily married to country music singer, Jessie James; they got married on June 22, 2013.
