He was born Christopher Andrew Sabo on January 19 1962 in Detroit, Michigan.
Sabo grew up playing hockey but then decided to concentrate more on baseball. In no time, his love and technique grew and landed him a successful career in high school at Detroit Catholic Central High School from 1978 to 1980. He also had a spot to play college baseball in Michigan from 1981 to 1983.
In 1983, Cincinnati Reds drafted Chris Sabo. In 1988, his skill in hitting runs, RBI among others grew massively that he won the National League Rookie of the Year title. In 1990 and 1991, he became an All-Star.
Along the line in his career, he played for Baltimore Orioles in 1994, progressed to Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals in 1995. In 1996, he returned to Cincinnati Reds where he earned the description of a great teammate and player, as well as a probably underrated star.
One cannot overemphasize the contribution of Sabo as a player as it was visible that he was tough, played with passion till the very end, and watched himself become a GOAT in the game.
