Famous American One Championship fighter Demetrious Johnson nicknamed “Mighty Mouse” grew up not knowing his biological father until he was an adult. He was raised alongside his siblings by an abusive stepfather and a mother who suffers from hearing impairment. He said she read his lips after teaching him to always look her in the face when she speaks to her.
Furthermore, Karen John didn’t learn sign language, she only watches TV with closed captions. Her son said she was born in Kentucky and grew up in the 60s and 70s when there wasn’t an opportunity for people with her condition to learn sign language.
Despite her disability, she stuck to discipline and hard work. She also passed them to the mixed martial artist and his siblings. She told him to work hard, and that he can have whatever he wanted.
His stepfather, on the other hand, was in the military. According to various reports, Demetrious and his siblings suffered abuse at his hands. Regardless of the abuse, the mixed martial artist said he held nothing against him saying he understood why he did the things he did to him and his siblings. He said frustration can make one take a path to restore order, and his stepfather took a different angle of bringing up him and his siblings and abusing them.
Going further, the former UFC fighter recently came into contact with his biological father. He met him when he was 30 years old. Sometime in 2019, he shared an image of himself and his biological father on Instagram with the caption:

Meet Demetrious Johnson’s Wife Destiny (nee Bartels) Johnson And His Three Kids
Demetrious Johnson’s wife Destiny (nee Bartels) Johnson was born on May 3, 1987, in Fort Worth, Texas, and she is currently 38 years old. Although there aren’t many details regarding her childhood and family background, her father was a US Marine, and she has at least two siblings, a sister and a brother known as Cody Bartels.
Regarding education, she attended Pierce College at Fort Steilacoom in Lakewood, Washington.
