Dzsenifer Marozsan is one of the best footballers to ever come out of Germany. The impossibly gifted midfielder currently plays club side for Olympic Lyon and has led the team to numerous victories. She also represents the German women’s national football team and she also serves as the captain of the squad.
Prior to moving to France to play in the Division 1 Feminine, she played for 1. FFC Frankfurt and 1. FC Saarbrucken in the women’s Bundesliga. In 2016, Dzsenifer led Germany’s Olympics winning campaign in Rio de Janeiro. The midfielder scored the final goal against Sweden in the 2013 UEFA Women’s Euro that sent Germany to the finals and helped them win the tournament. She also set another record as the youngest player to score a goal in Bundesliga which she did at age 15 years and 4 months. She won the 2. Bundesliga trophy with the team in the 2008-2009 season and was a runner for the 2007-08 German Cup.
After spending two years at 1. FC Saarbrucken, she joined 1.FFC Frankfurt in 2009. Dzsenifer Marozsan helped the team claim the 2014-15 UEFA Women’s Champions League title and two DFB Pokal trophies in 2010-11 and 2013-14.
She signed with her current club, Olympique Lyonnais in 2016 and has continued her goalscoring and title-winning streak with the side. Marozsan has helped her squad bring home the Division 1 Feminine trophy three years in a row, in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Dzsenifer has also won the Coupe de France Feminine twice in 2017 and 2019, and the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

On the international front, Dzsenifer Marozsan made her first senior national team appearance on October 28, 2010, in a game against Australia. She scored her first goal for the senior team against Turkey on February 15, 2012. Also, Dzsenifer scored the game-winning goal at the 2016 Olympics final match which helped Germany take home their first women’s gold medal in football. Her contributions to the national team led to her being named captain on October 21, 2016.
In addition to the above, the midfielder has also represented and helped Germany bring home the titles in the UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship, 2010 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, 2013 UEFA Women’s Championship, 2012 and 2014 Algarve Cup tournaments.
