Gabriel Rosado’s mother Rev.Dr. Bonnie Jean Ortiz was born in Camden, New Jersey, and is of Puerto Rican descent. She lived mostly in Philadelphia.
Regarding her education, she attended Olney High School and graduated in 1982 before earning a diploma in Biblical Studies from Rose of Sharon Bible Institute in 1986. Subsequently, she bagged a bachelor of Theology from Pan American Theological Seminary in 1993, a Masters of Science in Nonprofit Management from Eastern Univerity in 1998, and a Doctor of Ministry from Palmer Theological Seminary in 2010.
Additionally, she went on to take graduate courses in Interior Design at Moore College of Art and Design, Adult Education at LaSalle University, and Library and Information Science at Drexel University.
At the moment, she is the pastor at Bethel United Church of Christ in Olney, Philadelphia. Further, she served in various capacities as associate pastor at “Rosa de Saron,” and “El Santuario congregations, administrative director at Way of Heaven Ministry, Inc, program director for Latino churches at Center for Urban Resources (CUR), and administrative director at Easter University for the doctor of ministry (D.Min) program at Palmer Theological Seminary.
She has received several accolades for her hard work and dedication, such as Liberty Bell, Good Samaritan Award, Torch Award, and Presidential Award for Community Excellence.
Moving forward, she married Emanuel “Manny” Ortiz, an advocate and political organizer in Philadelphia’s Puerto Rican community, after her divorce from Rosado’s father. Sadly, he passed away in March 2013 at the age of 63, after complications from heart surgery.

Gabriel Rosado’s father is Pastor Encarnacion Rosado. It is unclear where he was born, his family background, or the schools he attended. As you already know, he was a pastor at the Church of the Sanctuary at Germantown and Indiana Avenues in Philadelphia. He also ran a ministry alongside Rosado’s mother called “The Way to Heaven Ministry, Inc”, a nonprofit for men struggling with addiction such as alcohol, drugs, and gambling.
