Hannah Wilkinson was born on 28 May 1992 in Whangarei, New Zealand and she is currently 33 years old. Her father is known as Simon Wilkinson and he happens to be a surfing pro. Hannah became drawn to sports as a result of her father’s athletic background. Although she later chose football, surfing is also one of the things that Hannah does from time to time. Meanwhile, she also has other siblings namely Karen Wilkinson and Sam Wilkinson who are very supportive of her career.
2. Hannah played football both at high school and collegiate levels
Hannah Wilkinson started playing football at the high school level in 2005. She participated in sports with Glenfield Rovers, North Force, and Kamo High School. She also began her college career in 2012 as a sophomore with the Tennessee Volunteers. In her first season, Hannah was named to the South-eastern Conference’s first team. The NCAA gave her eligibility for the 2015 season in November of her senior year.
Hannah has also said she continued to play football with boys until she was about 16.
3. She made her senior career debut in 2017
In March 2017, the talented footballer joined Vittsjö GIK of the Damallsvenskan. She also later joined Sporting CP, a Portuguese Campeonato Nacional squad, in July 2019. Two years later, the New Zealand football player moved on with the Australian team Melbourne City in August 2021.
4. Hannah Wilkinson has made significant appearances in her country’s national team
With five goals in three games, including a hat-trick in her first, Wilkinson made her debut for the New Zealand under-20 team in January 2010. Her performance delighted national selector, John Herdman, earning her a call-up to the senior team for friendlies against Australia and a trip to the Cyprus Cup. She participated in each of the three group games while representing New Zealand at the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Additionally, she participated in all three of New Zealand’s group matches in the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan.
Furthermore, Hannah participated in three of New Zealand’s four Olympic Games matches in London in 2012. Additionally, she participated in all three of New Zealand’s games during the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada. She also started each of New Zealand’s three games during the 2016 Rio Olympics. Following a remarkable recovery from her ACL injury, Wilkinson was picked to the final 23-player roster for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in April 2019. During the 2020 Summer Olympics, she participated in her 100th game for New Zealand on July 27, 2021. Hannah is openly lesbian and she said she realized she was gay when she was about 18 years old. Her girlfriend’s name is Katharine. In April 2023, the couple marked their second year of dating with a snapshot Hannah posted on Instagram.

Hannah explained that she and Katharine do not have the same career trajectories. She has mentioned her girlfriend to be a fitness trainer and dancer.
