Riley McGree Biography
It was on 2 November 1998 that the footballer was born Riley Patrick McGree in Gawler, South Australia, Australia. He was brought up together with his sister Demi McGree and a brother Billy McGree. His father is Dave McGree while his mother is Sharee Henry (formerly Sharee McGree).
He fell in love with football at an early age and he started his youth career with Gawler Eagles in 2003 before he moved to FFSA NTC in 2011. He remained with the youth team until 2014 when he moved to Adelaide United and then Adelaide United NPL.
His senior career began with Adelaide United in 2016. The following year, he joined Club Brugge before returning to Adelaide in 2019, and then in 2020, he transferred to Charlotte FC.
Riley started his international career with the Under-17 team of Australia in 2013 and then in 2017, he was called to the Under 23 team. It was finally in 2021 that he was called to play for the Socceroos.

2. Football is not the only sport he considered
The Australian talented football player almost played rugby as a kid as his father also played that. He revealed that when he was 4, he was almost put in the footy but soccer was suggested instead. More so, he also stated that he played cricket for a while before finally settling for football.
3. His mum remarried in 2020
In 2000, his mother got married for a second time to a man known as Shaun Henry. This is after the marriage between his parents came to an end years earlier.
4. He was nominated for a Puskas
Rily shocked the world in 2018 when he was nominated alongside some of the biggest names in football for the FIFA Puskas Award for his goal against Melbourne City FC during a semi-final match in 2017. 6. McGree was suspended from the Under-23 team for unprofessional conduct
Thus far, McGree has been unable to completely stay off of controversies. He was involved in what was described as unprofessional conduct in 2018 together with three other members of Australia’s under-23 team.
Initially, what they did was kept hidden but it was later revealed that Riley, alongside Brandon Wilson, Nathaniel Atkinson, and Lachlan Wales mistreated a woman during a night out following an intimate encounter. Although he was captain of the team when the incident happened, he missed the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship as a result of the suspension.
7. He is gradually building his net worth
Still, in his early years as a footballer, the actual net worth that the footballer has amassed over the years is still under review. Nonetheless, it is believed that with his consistency as a player, he is steadily building good fortune for himself.
