Novak Djokovic’s Father was Born in a Present-Day Partial Diplomatic Recognized Country

Srdjan Djokovic was born on April 25 1961 in Kosovska Mitrovica, a city located in Kosovo (officially known as the Republic of Kosovo).  At his birth and even in adulthood, Kosovo which is now a country with partial diplomatic recognition was fully under Serbia.

To say the least, Srdjan also grew up in the same country (which at the time was not a country). He was brought up by his parents Stanka and Vladimir in Zvečan.

Whatever the case, he later moved to Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia as well as the largest city in the country.

His Wife and Children

The former skier is married to Dijana Djokovic (née Žagar). The couple met in 1986 and have three boys.

On May 22, 1987, the couple had their first child, Novak Djokovic in Belgrade, Serbia. He is the most famous of Srdjan Djokovic’s children and is also a professional tennis player who became a pro in 2003.

Novak also won 11 Australian Open tournaments (2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023). He also won 3 Fren Open, 7 Wimbledon, and 3 US Open.
