The mother of one tied the knot in 2014 with her long-time sweetheart that happens to be a professional mixed martial artist and Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner who made his debut in 2008 and today stands as a multiple UFC Lightweight record holder.

Charles Oliveira, husband to Talita Roberta Pereira was always ill while growing up. No one would have believed that he will eventually grow to be a pro given that he almost lost his ability to walk due to Rheumatic fever and heart murmur. He was constantly in pain and was feared by medical experts to become a paraplegic. This was to mean that he will be paralyzed in the lower part of his body hence not being able to move his legs, feet, and stomach muscles.
Poor Oliveira whose family used to have a very low income kept his faith alive despite all odds. He was introduced to Brazilian jiu-jitsu by his neighbor called Paulo who offered him, free training classes, as part of his social program even as Charle’s family supported his training by selling street snacks and discarded cardboard to raise some money.
By age 12, Oliveira’s husband won his first major title as a white belt in 2003. He later was awarded his black belt in 2010.

As a way of giving back to society, Talita’s husband Charles created an institute in Guaruja SP, Brazil where unprivileged kids are being taught martial arts free of charge.
The institute is also a non-profit organization that offers mentorship programs to young individuals that will help them live meaningful lives away from drugs and violence.
It will be recalled that Charles also enjoyed a free social program like this while he was growing up. This has spurred him to reciprocate the same gesture in his community.
