Everton fan’s mum, Sarah Kelly, describes footballers as thugs following the assault of her 14-year-old son, Jake Harding by former Real Madrid and Manchester United star Christiano Ronaldo. The assault came after United’s 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park
According to Kelly, she was shocked at the star’s violent reaction toward her son. Ronaldo later took to his Instagram and apologized for the outburst of his emotions. He offers a peace offering by inviting the young boy to Old Trafford to watch a game.
The incident took place on Saturday, 9th April 2022 at 2:30pm after the Everton and Manchester United EPL encounter ended in favor of the Toffees. Based on video footage shared on social media and the comments that followed, Ronaldo smashed a young supporter’s mobile device as he walks down the tunnel after the match. The youngster tried to take a photo of the football star before the incident.
Ronaldo Offers Apology to The Young Supporter
Some hours after the incident, the 39 year-old Portuguese captain shared a message of apology on his Instagram page, stressing how challenging it is to deal with emotions in tough times. He also stresses the need to show respect, diligence, and patience and be a good model to young people who are lovers of the game.
In the spirit of fairness and good sportsmanship, he extended an invitation to the young boy to watch a game at Old Trafford.

Jake’s Mother Slams The Manchester United Star
Jake’s mother slammed Ronaldo’s violent behavior towards her son who she said is autistic and has dyspraxia. Narrating the incident on social media, She claims that the Portuguese star smashes her son’s phone out of his hand while he recording him at the end of the game. He ended up with bruises on his hand as a result.
She said the incident has not only left her son in total disarray, but it ruined his first time watching his favorite team play.
Is There An Investigation Into The Incident?
There is an ongoing investigation into the alleged assault incident involving Ronaldo at the Saturday’s Everton EPL clash with Manchester United. The Merseyside Police revealed it was collaborating with both Everton and Manchester United football clubs to ascertain the actualities of the incident.
Manchester United on the other hand is aware of the video footage that was circulated online but has not made any comments yet.
Interestingly, in 1995, former Manchester United great, Eric Cantona kicked a Cyrstal Palace fan Matthew Simmons during a match.
